[edit] Filters movement while in image mode
As per the SRS document the image mode will exit if filters are not in required positions. This means that it is not possible to continue imaging while filters are changed. Also the command examples list stop imaging before filter change.
Part of SRS document:
- 3.2.2.7. C_IMAGE_MODE - Imaging Mode Handling Capability
- ........
- Exit Conditions :
- ......
- 3) Filters not in required position and force was not specified (new mode is STBY)
[edit] Time interval for filter change
The time interval needed for filter change is from 4 to 8 minutes;
- 3.2.8. C_FILTERS_CTRL – Filters Wheel Handling Capability
- 3.2.8.2
- 1.4) If 2 minutes elapsed and did not reach position
- 1.4.1) Move filter in other direction
- 1.4.2) If didn't reach position – mark filters failure
- 3.2.8.5. Constraints
- ....
- 2) As the hardware is limited, it is not possible to move all filters at the
same time, the only exceptions are filter wheel C (telescope #3) can be moved simultaneously with either filter wheel A or filter wheel B and when using the redundant windings; filter wheel B (telescope #2) can be moved simultaneously with either filter wheel A or filter wheel C.
[edit] Questions
1. After POWER_ON how long needed to give 'Start-imaging' command?
2. How many minutes in advance the SHUT_DOWN command should be given before closing, ie, delay between this command and actual shutdown ?.
3. Can we give Filters/Start-imaging command before confirming MDP has reached required position ?. If not, how to confirm MDP is moving or finished it. ?
